TOP 10 REASONS TO: "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes"

Come on guys: Put on those high heels for a worthy cause:

RHS Student, Pierce Calvin McAllister & Co-Writer Josh Parkinson wrote the song that proved to be a winning combination that propelled Riverview High's Safe Grad Video Entry to the top in a province wide competition. The song was performed by the pair as well and included Matt Jenkins on lead guitar.

The video was produced by the students of Riverview High as a their  video submission for a 2011 Safe Grad campaign developed by NB Liquor.

In total NB Liquor gave $20,000 to 18 New Brunswick high schools who qualified. The money was used to support their 2011 Safe Grad celebrations.

U2 on Magnetic Hill - from a Dream to Reality

Check out our random footage from the event:

Now a great memory, bringing U2 to Moncton obviously started as a deam for someone. Mud and rain aside, this world class event, by all accounts was a huge success. Even the likes of U2 made some new fans during the past couple of days. I know because I'm one of them. This song in particular hit home for me. So much so that I've put together a "dream theme" video using some random footage from the concert along with an acoustic cover of "One". I hope you enjoy!

The GTO Band, shown below at this year's Speed Sport East, will perform at Shediac's Centre for Speed July 6, 2011 as part of this year's "Back to the 50s" event. The show will also feature international tribute acts performing the music of Jerry Lee Lewis & Buddy Holly. The GTO Band are Atlantic Canada's Rock n Roll band and have performed at venues throughout the Atlantic region for nearly 15 years.

Sproll's "Eyes Have Spoken"

Music Review by Lee Rambas

Sproll's song "Eyes Have Spoken"

First, this is a great song with a good beat and rhythm.

It is clear to see that the lead singer puts his heart into it. It's this kind of passion that makes the song more meaningful. Songs like this can really touch people and produce an emotional response. Vocalist Corey Hachey both connects with his audience and has them under his spell.

Now, for the video itself: It's artistic!

The setup of the band is very simple. There is no flash or glitter, but a black and white scheme. Except for the lead singer, the other band members (guitarist Neal MacLean, bassist Austin Farquhar, drummer Thom Cooke and keyboardist Mike Goyette) appear as silouhettes. This effect allows the mind to focus more on the instrument's sound and not the player identity.

The place, I guess a warehouse, also adds something. Each of the band members have as little equipment as possible. This attention to space allows the different instruments to be played in harmony and makes the sound that much richer. If I was there in the room with the band, I believe the music would fill up the place.

I have enjoyed watching the video and hope this review is appreciated.
